Maria van Dongen is an accomplished leader with more than 25 years of experience in pharmaceutical R&D, having held senior management roles in Global External Innovation for Discovery, Product Development & Supplies, Discovery Sciences, and the Janssen Prevention Center at Johnson & Johnson. She has led global teams in delivering preclinical proof-of-concept (PoC) for innovative products ranging from small molecule therapeutics to biologics and vaccines, and a key contributor to the evaluation and onboarding of countless external innovation projects across all stages of R&D. Prior to Johnson & Johnson, Maria held scientific research positions at Abbott, Biovitrum, and Pharmacia. She earned a PhD in Structural Biology and an MSc in Chemistry from Radboud University Nijmegen in the Netherlands.
