Jos Brands is an experienced leader in process research and development with a strong scientific foundation in synthetic organic chemistry. After completing his chemistry education in the Netherlands and the US, he joined Merck Research Laboratories in New Jersey. During a 23-year career with Merck, he held a variety of roles within the Department of Process Chemistry across the US, UK, and China. In 2015, Jos started a career as an independent consultant specializing in process chemistry and Chemistry, Manufacturing and Controls (CMC), supporting biotech companies in their chemical development projects.

Jos currently advises Allegria on CMC strategy and development.
