David P. Rotella earned a Ph.D. in medicinal chemistry under Donald T. Witiak at Ohio State University and carried out postdoctoral research in synthetic chemistry at Penn State with Ken S. Feldman. Following a 20-year industrial career, he is currently Sokol Professor of Chemistry at Montclair State University where his research is focused on kinase inhibition and central nervous system disorders. He is an inventor on several patents and patent applications, as an author of over fifty papers and multiple book chapters. He co-edited Burger’s Medicinal Chemistry and Comprehensive Medicinal Chemistry, major reference works in the field.
